Child & Teen Therapy

At Dove Counseling Services, we aim to give you and your family the space, support, and hope you need to heal and attain the life you desire.

We offer child and teen therapy for children ages 3+ living in Texas, along with adult and family therapy. Most of our sessions are online, yet we also provide in-home therapy in Hurst and surrounding areas. In-home treatment can be a convenient option for busy families and allows your child to attend counseling in a familiar environment.

Our team of counselors is knowledgeable, compassionate, and kind. We draw from different therapeutic orientations, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused therapy, family systems, and Christian counseling. We have vast experience treating various childhood conditions, including anxiety, depression, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), oppositional defiant disorder, school behavioral and performance issues, childhood and family trauma, and adoption problems.

Our main child and teen therapy specialties include:

Child and teen therapy for trauma

Child and teen trauma can manifest in different ways (e.g., depression, anxiety, defiance, poor performance) and have lifelong consequences. Through trauma-focused therapy, we assess your child’s symptoms and get to the root of their trauma, exploring how one or many disturbing events might be affecting their health and supporting them in finding relief.

Child and teen therapy for anxiety and depression

Anxiety and depression are mood disorders that don’t discriminate in age, yet early detection and treatment can make a difference. We use cognitive behavioral therapy to help children and teens identify and shift any unhelpful thought, emotional, and behavioral patterns contributing to these conditions and teach them effective coping strategies.
